My first week being in the Missouri School of Journalism has finally started! So far it has been more fun than I could have ever imagined! All of my classes are pretty exciting, and my photojournalism class in particular has already taught me so much. I'm excited to expand my knowledge of photojournalism. It's kind of exciting to think what kind of photographer I will be when I get out of the school. I don't even know! I guess I'll figure it out, and if you read my blog, you will too!
I will update this blog periodically with work from my photojournalism class, and also with my work from the Boone County Journal in Ashland.
Keep checking in!
Last weekend I took photographs of the rodeo in Ashland. It was fun, but also a little difficult. I had to figure out ISO a little better, and I don't know how to do ISO very well. I learned so much from this experience! Please comment on my photographs from this event, I really need to know how to make them better, and I need to figure out how to do a better job next time. I know that I need to have a lower apature, but it was difficult with a 3.5 18-135 zoomed all the way out. I kept the ISO at 1600 for most of the event, which made many of my photographs too grainy. How do I prevent this? Can I?

I like these photos, but I think most editors and fans will want to see action as well.
There's no way around it - you need faster glass.
